One-room apartment · 38 m²

Moscow · 2018-2019

This interior was created as a calm, integral environment - a space where nothing distracts, and everything works to create a feeling of silence.
It is based on three colors with low saturation, a minimum number of objects, clear lines and carefully selected light. To avoid visual noise, the project abandoned partitions: zoning is built with volumes, light and the logic of movement.
Only the bathroom is allocated as a separate room. Everything else is an open, but clearly structured space.
Two cabinets form a hallway, storage and wardrobe. One of them hides the household area - a washing machine and necessary little things. The kitchen is visually dissolved, made in the form of built-in cabinets - nothing superfluous, only function.
Particular attention is paid to lighting. Lamps with a narrow focusing angle are used: the light glides along the white floor, without glare on the walls. The colors are selected taking into account their reaction to daylight - they live and change depending on the time of day, forming a soft play of light, shadows and halftones. Minimalism in the project is not a style, but a way to reduce stress, a response to the information overload of a big city. All surfaces are wear-resistant and easy to clean, which makes the space practical.
