One-room apartment, 38 m²

Moscow, Russia, 2019

The project is entirely built on the main wish - to create a calm and whole space. As for the color palette, we used three low chroma primary colors. To avoid oversaturation, bulky furniture and decor were abandoned. We are not the first to talk about the impact of information noise, the inhabitants of a big city are the target audience of excessive information and stress. Clean lines with the help of light weave space into a single cocoon. Forms architecture is built around functionality and prioritizing the important things. There are no partitions in the apartment, only the bathroom is separated, the rest of the zones are arranged on the same square. Two closets form the hallway, storage and wardrobe, and one of the closets houses a washing machine and bulky household items. The entrance hall does not cause a feeling of alienation, the door is painted in the color of the walls. The residential part of the apartment, in which the kitchen is as light as possible, was disguised as ordinary cabinets. In the center is a soft sofa module. Luminaires with a sharp angle of focused light were chosen for the project, so that the light spreads over the white floor without giving bright spots on the walls. This creates a more comfortable environment by creating a sense of depth. Also, colors with low chromaticity are susceptible to the influence of natural light. Shadows, light and penumbra follow their daily routine, changing the color and mood of the space. This is the answer to the question about the lack of other colors besides the three primary ones. It was the client's wish to create a minimalistic environment, but the materials must be resistant to cleaning. The surface of the walls and floor are covered with strong compounds.
