NP62
One-room apartment · 33 m²
near the Sea of Japan · 2017-2018
The NP62 project is a reimagined one-room apartment of 33 m².
Light, structured, tactile - it was created as a space that combines lightness and severity, naturalness and accessibility.
The key structural change was a new opening in the load-bearing wall connecting the kitchen and living room. The apartment is divided into clear, logical zones: sleep, rest, work, kitchen, dining room, wardrobe, bathroom and entrance area with storage systems.
The cabinet in the hall hides household appliances and a water heater, maintaining visual purity.
The key element was a plywood cube that forms the sleeping area and incorporates a storage system. Two tables on metal frames - kitchen and work - can be combined into one large table for receiving guests, accommodating up to eight people.
The materials are extremely honest: birch plywood, white surfaces, metal. Light and proportions make the space open and flexible. NP62 is a compact architecture built around life. Simple, functional and warm at the same time.
